But the new contract is anything but easy - the henchmen of a powerful gangster are sticking close to his heels, and a cop is also hot on his trail…..

Chow Yun-Fat- the killer with scruples. Simply out of this world!

Jeffrey (Chow Yun-Fat) is a contract killer, who unintentionally injures a singer, Sally, who happened to be present in one of his jobs, to the point that she is slowly losing her eyesight. He feels responsible for her. They fall in love with one another. She does not know that he is responsible for her condition.
Jeffrey accepts a final contract, in order to earn enough money for an eye operation for his girlfriend. Meanwhile a cop (Danny Lee ) is also after him. He takes care of this job, but is betrayed by his client, and does not get his fee.

As a result of this, he wants to take revenge, above all for the death of his friend. He and the cop who is pursuing him ‘make friends’ because the cop has a friend who was also killed. Both of them now want revenge.

Sally also knows in the meantime, that Jeffrey is to blame for her slowly losing her eyesight. She also knows that he is a contract killer, but in spite of this, she still loves him, because he promised to quit his ‘job’ so that he can begin a new life with her.

He is not able to keep his promise...

Chow Yun-Fat plays a first-class role here. He shows much emotion, but also the dual nature of his character. There is nothing more to be said. I was carried away by the film, even if there is no happy ending. Neat work from the John Woo/Chow Yun-Fat duo.
An absolute ‘must see’ film!
